The FCAA is open to professional and amateur artists and people interested in the arts who wish to associate with artists. Membership is defined as members in good standing whose dues are paid to date.
Membership Includes:
- Monthly newsletter - Lists art events, member news, upcoming meeting information, and a review of the most recent meeting.
- Monthly meetings - Usually held in Fairfield or Westport at 7 p.m. on the second Wednesday evening of the month, September through June. Meetings are free to members. Meetings usually feature an FCAA or guest artist presentation, a group critique of recent artwork brought in to the meeting by attending members, and an opportunity to talk with fellow artists while having refreshments.
- Parties - There is an Annual Holiday Party in December and an Ice Cream Social in July at a member’s home.
- Group exhibition opportunities* - Recent shows were at Independence Hall and at Bruce S. Kershner Gallery in the Fairfield Library. Other area sites are being considered.
- Website - Members have an opportunity to post some of their art on the FCAA website.
- Group Outings* - Fairfield County Arts Association arranges museum trips and en plein air activities in scenic areas around CT. Artists share the day and take photographs, paint or do anything artsy they choose. Everyone packs a picnic and brings their own supplies.
